  • Fatal School Bus Collision
    (RUSSELL, ON) – The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision.   On May 13, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a collision involving a school bus and a cyclist on St Joseph Street near Chene Street in Clarence-Rockland. The cyclist, an 11-year-old child, was pronounced deceased. The bus driver was uninjured. The section of St Joseph Street near the collision site was closed for approximately six hours. The collision remains under investigation with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and the OPP Technical Collision Investigation Team.
